Engineering Manager
Principal Responsibilities
- Management of all existing plant, equipment and projects to ensure compliance against relevant engineering standards, Management System performance standards and legislative requirements
- Management of plant modifications through supervision of in-house personnel and/or engineering contractors.
- Preparation and issue of all necessary monthly plant performance to indicate operation within permitted parameters.
- Liaison with the Operations team to ensure plant faults are rectified within satisfactory period, safely, efficiently and in compliance with necessary regulations.
- Facilitate upgrades to the Safety Management System associated with Engineering and design, ensuring updates are applicable and in line with any legislation change.
- Manage direct/indirect reports, within Engineering and Projects Department
- Manage Engineering OPEX and CAPEX budgets
Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering Degree level qualification, ideally in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered engineering membership at member level, or associate level, looking to attain full membership within a minimum period.
- Experienced in the integration of occupational and process safety management into operations.
- At least 5 years’ experience in an engineering supervisory/management role, managing both teams of engineers and external contractors.
- Experience working with budgets.
- Ability to train team members in new skills and competencies
- Strong problem solving skills and decision making.
- Experience of working in plant operations or interfacing with operations personnel through design in the energy industry
- Good leadership experience is essential
