Job Accountabilities:

Member of the RoK Legislation Department in Company Legal Directorate to provide legal advice and support in a pro-active, timely, cost-effective and professional manner;
 Coach junior staff using a supportive and collaborative approach, monitor and evaluate results;
 Ensure that legal considerations, including mitigation of legal risks identified by the Department, are taken into account in operations, planning activities, new business/project development, relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK) government and other relevant third parties;
 Support litigation and other legal action to protect, defend and preserve the interests and assets of NCOC N.V. and the Contractor under the NCSPSA;
 Monitor relevant legal developments and communicate these to the business and functional Directorates;
 Give advice on compliance with the NCSPSA & JOA, and relevant RoK and other applicable laws, to the business and functional Directorates;
 Provide legal analysis of possible risks for Company business activity due to changes and amendments to RoK legislation;
 Legal review of Management Committee Resolutions;
 Maintain liaison with the Authority under the NCSPSA and other RoK governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Energy and other Ministries, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the local environmental authorities, security services, emergency situation authorities, and tax and customs bodies with oversight by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director;
 Legal review of relevant Managing Director correspondence;
 Represent Company in meetings and negotiations with the Authority, other RoK governmental bodies and other third parties with oversight by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director;
 Maintenance of the corporate documents of Company branch;
 Liaise with shareholders’ lawyers on relevant legal issues with oversight by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director;
 Work with external counsel and notaries;
 Perform such other duties and tasks as may be assigned by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director.

Qualification & Experience Requirements:
 University law degree;
 Minimum of 4 years experience of working in a legal role.
