Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

- Establish data accumulation process for a cost accounting;
 Create and review controls required for running data accumulation and reporting of capitalized costs;
 Recommend to management any update to accounting policies;
 Maintain fixed assets register;
 Capital cost recording and movement in the accounting system;
 Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset register and close outs of the accounts upon completion of phases;
 Calculate depreciation, where the use was started;
 Calculate asset retirement obligations for those assets to which ARO is applicable;
 Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and inventory;
 Establish and conduct physical count for items which are capitalized already;
 Conduct analyses related to capital costs as requested by management;
 Prepare audit schedules related to capital costs and assist auditors when required;
 Track company expenditures on capital costs in comparison to capital budget together with budgeting team
 Be a single contact point for the project team cost controls for reporting regular data;
 Ensure accounting records tie to the approved accounting policies;
 Participate in improvement of systems and processes to enable all recipients of data to produce reliable reports;
 Ensure internal controls are in place for accurate processing of transactions;
 Prepare tax registers and tax returns as defined by the chief accountant

WORKING CONDITIONS/REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
 The employee shall reside in Almaty

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
 Degree in accounting or finance;
 3-5 years experience in accounting;
 Professional qualifications is a plus;
 Experience working in industry, project management environment;
 Experience of statutory tax audits;
 Ability to communicate issues and provide solutions for management decision;
 Well developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective systems and processes;
 Oral and written English and Russian language skills.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
 Accurate, responsible, able to set solutions to the problem, sound acumen in accounting;
 Knowledge of ERP systems and controls.
