·         Proficiency of use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for presentation and analysis of project information. Experience with database would be a plus.

·         Ensure that all activities comply with the Project health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

·         Assist with the Mechanical Engineering function of the Pre-Commissioning Team on behalf of the Pre-Commissioning Manager.

·         Assist with the management of all vendor mechanical checks listed in the OEM’s and identify those that are required during commissioning, ensuring that these tests or test conditions are complied with.

·         Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer to ensure that all equipment Lubrication Schedules have been adhered to before the commencement of commissioning in that Area, or on specific equipment being commissioned.

·         Assist with Mechanical Team reviews of Construction C0 Test Packs to ensure that equipment is ready for rotational checks and load testing.

·         Assist with the management and recording of all bearing Temperature and Vibration Testing Checks and records, required by the Pre-Commissioning Team during C-1 and C-2 activities. Utilize team extracted from the Contractor’s mechanical support team who are tasked to perform these duties.

·         Liaise with the Electrical and Process Engineers to formulate 2 week look ahead schedules for workload, so that the Contractor can provide sufficient support staff for C-1 bearing and gearbox monitoring.

·         Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer to manage a Contractor Teams Mod squad activities on a day to day basis in order to close out deficiencies, remove and replace guards as required, do motor and shaft alignments and replace and tension belts as required.

·         Assist with the Mechanical Commissioning of the Crushers, Material Handling Systems, Gearbox Driven Drives, Thickener Mechanisms, hydraulic systems, compressor systems and any other mechanical equipment deemed technically challenging. Utilize Electrical and Process personnel to assist you whenever needed.

·         Assist with raising Purchase Orders for any equipment, spares or tools deemed necessary to perform commissioning activities.

·         Assist with raising Scope of Work and CORF’s in order to mobilize contractors deemed necessary for commissioning assistance or testing, passport and certification of mechanical equipment.

·         Coordinate the collection and delivery of C-1 and C-2 Test Sheets for entry into the Progress Tracking System and filing into PCM Test Packs.

·         Read and understand the Pre-Commissioning Framework Plan, which provides details in regards to commissioning protocols.

·         Input defect information into a Master Defects Register for Mechanical items that are recorded on punch lists during pre-commissioning and ensure that these deficiencies are closed out according to their priority status.

·         Comply with site HS&E Plans and policies.

·         Complete the Pre-Commissioning Safety Induction and Lock Out / Tag Out Training prior to commencing work.

·         Use JHAs and SLAM to audit and identify hazards or dangers during tasks to ensure a safe work environment.

·         Advise your Lead Mechanical Engineer in writing if you lose or damage any tooling assigned to you.

·         Assist in any mechanical works required in both the Process Plant and Infrastructure Areas.

·         Follow commissioning safety protocols in regards to locking, barricading and using signage to indicate areas or equipment that is either live or being commissioned.

·         Assists the activities of Pre-commissioning Mechanical & Piping Team on the installation, Assembly and Commissioning of Electrical & Mechanical equipment including Piping Systems assuring a sufficient quality threshold for a safety, reliable and continuous operation.

·         Support the Pre-commissioning Group in all aspects of Mechanical & Piping discipline, ensuring timely completion of commissioning plant areas, systems and subsystems.

·         Provide the most appropriate testing and commissioning procedures and good practices to eliminate hazards, minimise costs and improve performance/quality.

·         Ensure that the quality of the work completed is to project design for the Mechanical and Piping discipline through the use of understandable quality procedures.

·         Assists the correct performance of Mechanical and Piping Team and Pre-Commissioning Group.

·         Ensure statutory compliance for all mechanical and piping installations, equipment and works across the site.

·         Ability to effectively communicate with contractors and sub-contractors with respect to project commissioning.

·         Assist in the implementation of all mechanical and piping aspects of the project commissioning plan and procedures for staff and contractors by attending site and area specific meetings regarding mechanical commissioning matters. Witnessing, conducting and verifying checks and tests are carried according the commissioning plan and to the required codes and statutes. Working with Project Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance.

·         Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).

·         Maintain high standard of personal HSE behaviour.

·         Take immediate appropriate action when any potential problem is observed. Issuing and authorisation of Work permits concerned his activities on site.

·         Developing and following lockout procedures and safe work practices.

·         Performing routine job observations on hazardous tasks.

·         Management of all bridges, bypassing and software changes

·         Rapid communication and informing of all changes to relevant personnel

·         Ensuring the updating of all engineering documentation and references associated to the changes.

·         Effective use of most appropriate technology and high work ethics.

·         All disciplines are clearly and continuously informed of changes tests and modifications.

·         Detailed interaction is sustained between disciplines in order to provide the most effective systems service to other departments.

·         Management of consultants and contractors to ensure sound governance and adherence to budget, contract schedule, project scope and delivery of high reliable solutions.

·         Provision of consultative services to all departments with regards to support on trouble shooting on existing equipment, design improvement and safe implementation thereof.

·         Ensure optimal process performance and security.
